Christian Iddon topped the opening Free Practice for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Snetterton this afternoon, firing the Oxford Products Racing Ducati ahead of Leon Haslam in the final minutes of the session.
Haslam had been leading the charge for the majority of the session for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad Team, but on his final run, Iddon was able to move ahead by 0.024s.
Jason O'Halloran surged into third place in a strong session for the McAMS Yamaha team, with Tito Rabat debuting in fifth place with his final lap moving him up the order at the chequered flag after his first laps of the Norfolk circuit.
Ryan Vickers had a strong start to his home round in fourth place for the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha team, with championship leader Tommy Bridewell in sixth place ahead of Lee Jackson, who split the BeerMonster Ducati teammates.
Glenn Irwin was eighth on the timesheets with Danny Kent and Danny Buchan completing the top ten, with Kyle Ryde outside the top ten in twelfth. Franco Bourne made his Bennetts BSB debut with Honda Racing UK in 24th place.
