Lamborghini machinery topped the opening Free Practice session of the British GT Championship weekend at Snetterton, with Alex Martin and Sandy Mitchell’s Huracan GT3 Evo2 lapping the 300 circuit in 1m46.108s.

Things were evenly matched towards the top of the order with less than a tenth of a second separating the leaders from the chasing 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG. Serial British GT race winner Phil Keen was at the wheel of the German machine for its fastest lap, with Ian Loggie sharing driving duties during the 60-minute session.

Another Mercedes-AMG was third quickest with the father-son combo of Richard and Sam Neary, albeit with a more than a second adrift of the leading two cars around the 300 circuit. The Blackthorn Aston Martin of Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam was fourth with another father-son duo completing the top-five in another Lamborghini.

The British GT runners will return to the circuit for another practice period at 12.05 prior to a sequence of four split Qualifying sessions.
