Jake Hill went fastest during the opening Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship practice session of the weekend at Snetterton this morning (Snetterton). The Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW lapped the full-length Snetterton 300 circuit in 2m10.420s.
Hill emerged as the quickest during a 35-minute session which took place in slightly damp conditions, edging out fellow BMW runner Charles Rainford by just under half a second. In fact, it was a strong showing for all of the West Surrey Racing run BMWs with Daryl DeLeon fourth and Aiden Moffat a little further back in 10th.
WSR was denied a clean sweep of the top positions by Dan Cammish in the fastest of the NAPA Racing UK Fords in third. Four-time champion Ash Sutton was also competitive in another of the Focus STs, rounding out the top-five just over eight tenths of a second adrift of the outright pace.
Aron Taylor-Smith showed strongly in the first of the Toyotas in sixth ahead of another rapid Ford in the hands of Daniel Rowbottom. Josh Cook and Tom Ingram were eighth and ninth, just ahead of DeLeon who completed the top-10.
