Tom Ingram set the fastest lap yet of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship weekend to lead the second practice session as conditions improved onto the 300 circuit.
Ingram’s Team Vertu Hyundai lapped the Norfolk circuit’s longer layout in 1m54.509s as the track dried out following a damp earlier session. It was a strong session for the Hyundais more generally too, with Dan Lloyd going second quickest in one of Restart Racing’s examples, just over four tenths behind Ingram.
Mikey Doble gave his Vauxhall Astra its strongest showing of the weekend so far by setting the third fastest time, a mere three thousandths of a second behind Lloyd.
Dan Cammish showed impressively for a second session in succession, following up his third place from earlier on with fourth, just ahead of Adam Morgan in fifth at the wheel of another Team Vertu Hyundai. Reigning champion Jake Hill was sixth this time after topping the earlier practice period.
Behind that, Gordon Shedden spearheaded an encouraging session for the Toyotas, with three Corolla GR Sports making it into the top-10. Aron Taylor-Smith and James Dorlin ended up ninth and 10th for the team, with Chris Smiley’s Restart Hyundai breaking up the Toyota group in eighth.
