2 Seas Motorsport’s Kevin Tse registered a blistering lap time in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo during British GT Championship Pre-Qualifying at Snetterton.
Winner of races in each of the last two British GT seasons at Snetterton, Tse managed a 1m46.264s, clearing his nearest rival by nearly three tenths of a second.
A late charge from Barwell Motorsport’s Jarrod Waberski helped him to ascend to second place in his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2, which he shares with Alex Martin. The other Barwell Motorsport entry triggered a red flag halfway through the session, with assistance required to help remove Rob Collard’s stricken Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 from harms’ way.
Mark Smith and Martin Plowman extracted more from their McLaren 720s GT3 Evo than in Free Practice, improving by five spots to complete the session in third place for Paddock Motorsport. Mike Price and Callum Macleod were fourth for Optimum Motorsport, and the last of the cars under the 1m47s barrier.
Aaron Walker and Ian Loggie ensured 2 Seas Motorsport had two cars inside the top five, while Free Practice toppers Ben Barnicoat and Morgan Tillbrook were sixth for Optimum Motorsport.
The Rodin Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, driven by Cameron Campbell and Joshua Buchan managed seventh, while Marc Warren and Jack Brown came eighth in third Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720s Evo to register a time sufficient enough to crack the top 10.
Barwell Motorsport’s Rob Collard and Hugo Cook were classified in ninth, while Steven Lake and Dean Macdonald ended the session in tenth for Orange Racing by JMH.
The fascinating GT4 class was headed by Ernie Graham and Colin Turkington, driving a BMW M4 GT4 Evo for WSR FlexiFly. Their closest challengers were Josh Stanton and George Gamble in a McLaren Artura GT4 for Optimum Motorsport.
