Mahiki Racing has announced a full-season GT3 entry in the 2026 British GT Championship, with Mahiki founder Steven Lake and Josh Rowledge set to pilot a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.
Team owner Lake spent the majority of last season in the GT4 category, competing first in a Lotus Emira before moving over to the Ginetta G56. Now he makes a full-season step-up with an expanded GT3 programme in 2026, having opted for the proven McLaren 720S GT3 Evo as the team’s car of choice.
Rowledge, meanwhile, returns to the championship after last competing in the series in 2024, where he raced in the GT3 category with an Aston Martin. However, the 20-year-old has previous experience with McLaren machinery after competing in a McLaren Artura GT4 back in 2023.
Steven Lake said: “We’re delighted to welcome Josh to Mahiki Racing for the upcoming season. He’s shown impressive progression over the past few years, stepping up through the British GT ranks and gaining valuable experience internationally. His pace, professionalism, and approach to racing really stood out to us, and I’m confident he’ll be a great fit within the team.”
Josh Rowledge added: “After competing in the British GT Championship in 2023 with the McLaren GT4 and stepping up to GT3 competition in 2024, I feel I’ve built a really solid foundation at this level. Racing extensively in Asia last season was a huge part of my development, pushing me into new environments and accelerating my learning both on and off the track.
“Joining Mahiki Racing is incredibly exciting for me. The team has shown real ambition and professionalism, and I’m confident we have everything in place to be competitive from the very start.”
