Ray, Cook and Stacey smash all-time lap record to complete front row

04 July 2026

Bradley Ray delivered an incredible lap during ROKiT Oxygen Performance Qualifying at Snetterton with the McAMS Yamaha rider smashing the all-time BSB lap record that has stood since 2017 to take the Omologato Pole Position.

In a sensational session, the front row had all dipped into the 1m:45s lap times, a first for BSB at the Norfolk circuit. Max Cook had been the first rider to accomplish the feat, firing the AJN Steelstock bimota into the leading position with ten minutes remaining of the session. Ray had seen the lap time on the timing screens in the pit box and knew what he had to beat.

Ray was holding tenth on the times until the final four minutes of the session when he set a pace 0.267s faster than the previous all-time best and it put him 0.082s ahead of Cook. Meanwhile Storm Stacey was on a charge, chasing Rory Skinner on track, he was able to fire the Bathams AJN Racing Ducati into third to complete the front row.

Stacey’s improvement eased Leon Haslam onto the second row with his final lap of the session, ahead of Scott Redding and Kyle Ryde, who complete row two for race one this afternoon. The reigning champion led the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing charge, whilst his teammate Glenn Irwin was hampered with technical problems during the session and was unable to set a flying lap.

Joe Talbot had a strong session on the second of the AJN Steelstock bimotas in seventh place, holding off Christian Iddon and Ryan Vickers on the third row of the grid for this afternoon with Josh Brookes completing the top ten for DAO Racing Honda.
