Douglas Motorsport's Conor Grant claimed his first GB4 Championship pole position after a closely fought battle with teammate George Proudford-Nalder in the first Winter Series qualifying session at Snetterton.

The Irishman claimed pole with a time of 1m49.604s on his penultimate lap of the session, with just a couple of minutes remaining. He pipped teammate George Proudford-Nalder to top spot by just 0.020s after the duo took turns at the head of the timesheets.

Proudford-Nalder did top the second quickest time charts though, with a 1m49.652s, handing him pole for race two later this afternoon.

With the Douglas duo topping both leaderboards, it was the Elite Motorsport car of Jesse Phillips who completed the top three, 0.279s off the overall pole time. His second-best effort will also see the GB4 and single-seater debutant line up from third, with his effort just 0.125s shy of Grant on the front row.

R Racing marked their maiden GB4 qualifying session with the fourth-fastest time, courtesy of their sole entrant Chase Fernandez. The Briton was 0.607s off the pole time, with John O'Donnell completing the top five on his first appearance with Elite, a further 0.136s back.

The third and final Elite car of Harrison Mackie was sixth and the final driver within a second of Grant's pole time. Lewis Goff of KMR Sport was seventh, Jamie Leverton of Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing eighth and Qarrar Firhand of Fortec Motorsport ninth. The six cars from fourth to ninth all ranked in the same order based on their second-fastest efforts.

Fox Motorsport's Archie Bullard completed the top 10 for race one, with William Rohan 11th. The pair are set to switch positions for race two later today.

Race one is due to start in just over an hour, at 1220hrs.
