News update - 17 Jan 2012

1st Quarter update - Noise Management Plan requirement

Track Activity

Our season is about to begin. With our winter break concluded, we begin this coming weekend with some novice track days for both cars and bikes.

In late 2011 MSV agreed to some amendments to the noise management plan - in response to requests from local neighbours, made via the Liaison Group.

For 2012 there will now be quieter days immediately following the British Superbikes and British Touring car events. These days will be restricted to a much reduced drive by limit of 85 decibels. This limit has been set to match the levels expected from un modified road cars.

MSV will also be requesting the race clubs ensure their timetables do not allow class 2 or class 3 vehicles to operate during likely church services in the local parish of Wilby. Whilst this will not mean 'no running' it will mean that only the quieter races will be programmed for Sunday mornings before 10.30am. These timetables will be based on information received from the parishes.

The racing season itself gets under way on 10 March with a car race event organised by MSVR. Full details of the calendar are available at The residents calendar will continue to be updated and will also continue with links to timetables and the further information held on the main website.

The 2nd official update will be published at the beginning of April, though of course other news items will be featured as they occur.
