Quarterly update July - September - 3 Jul 2013

Venue Improvements

With some exciting racing fast approaching MSV continues to improve the facilities at the venue with 3 new grandstands and a children's play area having been installed in the last 3 months. The stands at Bombhole, Murrays and Tyrrells offer fans a great trackside view, and seating is available and free on most of our weekend race events.

The new children's play area has been created next to Tyrrells restaurant and should help mum's and dad's keep their children entertained between races.

MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship

Friday 05 - Sunday 07 July 2013

As our largest public event of the year the super-fast Snetterton circuit hosts the fifth round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship as the riders take to the fast straights and tight infield section of the 300 layout.

Expect ultra-close racing and drama in the July heat as the title race starts to get down to the business end! And with the superb panoramic views available from the spectator banks and brand new grandstands, you won't miss a moment of the action!

Don't miss the chance to see world-class superstars Shane Byrne, James Ellison, Alex Lowes and Josh Brookes go flat out in Norflok at the BSB Battle of the East!

A packed support programme of races will also provide superb entertainment throughout the weekend. Enjoy three days of action from just £32, with camping just £17 per person.

Traffic Arrangements for BSB

Traffic arrangements and management will be in place on Sunday 7 July from 7.00am until 11.00am on the roundaboits at the junction of Hraling Rd and the A11.

All advertising and signage directs race  goers to our main entrance, though the 'Coram' gate will be open at certain times and all day on Sunday for local fans who want to use this entrance.

Exit traffic will be directed onto the A11 at the Snetterton junction and also the Larling junction. (from the old A11)

Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship
Snetterton 300
Saturday 03 - Sunday 04 August 2013

Similar traffic arrangemenst will be in place for the annual visit of the BTCC to the Snetterton 300 circuit. This will take place over the 2 - 4 August inclusive.

The BTCC returns from its mid-season break, with teams and drivers raring to go. The action on the 300 circuit, the championship's newest, is a pointer to the form of the second half of the year and the all-important run-in to the championship finale. A combination of two high-speed straights and an infield section overlooked by panoramic spectator banks gives the cars a real workout. The action around the new arena is always fierce too, with plenty of overtaking, bumping and barging that the championship is renowned for!

This season has seen the return of 2009 title winner Colin Turkington to the fold, making it four champions in the field. Old rivals Matt Neal and Jason Plato, plus reigning champion Gordon Shedden will also face stiff competition from the rest of a packed field.

The three races include a reverse-grid spectacular to end the weekend. Expect plenty of action from some of the country's best championships on the support bill too.

British Truck Racing Championship
Snetterton 300
Sunday 25 - Monday 26 August 2013

The British Truck Racing Championship visits Snetterton again this August Bank Holiday weekend on the full-length 300 circuit.

Boasting acceleration of 0-100mph in less than five seconds, trucks defy their size, and under their skin they bear almost no resemblance to the machines that you see on the public roads. The drivers aren't afraid to risk a bit of body contact as they jostle for position, which makes for great racing!

The sights of these 1,000bhp monsters of motorsport plunging into Riches, Montreal, Palmer and Agostini corners is going to be well worth the wait! The long straights of Snetterton will also allow these juggernauts to demonstrate their true power.

VSCC Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies Meeting
Snetterton 200
Sunday 29 September 2013

The Vintage Sports-Car Club made their first foray to Norfolk in 2012, with an event on the 2 mile Snetterton '200' circuit. The VSCC was formed in 1934 with a cut-off date of vehicles manufactured by 1931 and you will see many fine vintage cars, plus a lot of post-vintage thoroughbreds - cars built between 1931 and 1940 but adhering to earlier standards - plus the best post-war cars such as the Grand Prix and sports racing cars of the 1950s.

With a huge entry list expected this weekend, 90 years of the Austin 7 will be celebrated, as well as the 50th running of the club's Spero and Voiturette Trophy Race for small capacity cars.

Pre 1931 racers will contest the illustrious Vintage Seaman Trophy, featuring a 24 litre Napier Bentley, amongst Morgan three wheelers, and 1950s Sports Racing Cars will recall the legendary Autosport 3 Hour Races. Also from that decade will be 500cc Formula 3 racers.

Don't miss a nostalgic throwback to a glorious bygone era!
