Historical Snippet Part 6 - 5 Nov 2013

Snetterton photo of the day. An interesting aerial shot by Mike Dixon, taken during Britain's first ever around-the-clock race, the 1980 Willhire 24 hours.

Overlooking the Bombhole with its grandstand, the wartime runway that was used for the Revett Straight can clearly be seen. Also the old redundant Home Straight joining from the right and the new Esses ( now known as Brundle and Nelson ). Note the oval on the grass infield used for stock cars and the run-off area of the Revett Straight which was used as the burnout / startline area for the 1970s drag meetings, running the opopsite way down the straight.
