Snetterton unveils bumper 2016 calendar - 26 Feb 2016

Snetterton's 2016 calendar has been confirmed, with major championships and themed events headlining a schedule of 30 meetings running almost every weekend from March until November. Tickets for many of these are now on sale from £10, with free entry to under-13s at all events.

The Norfolk circuit will host several major national championships this season, including the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship on 8-10 July. Triple champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne will be out to regain his crown, but faces opposition that includes returning World Superbike star Leon Haslam, plus crowd favourites Ryuichi Kiyonari, John Hopkins and many more.

The British Touring Car Championship returns to Norfolk on 30/31 July, with the drivers returning from their summer break ready to fight for the 2016 title. Reigning champion Gordon Shedden and Honda team-mate Matt Neal will battle rivals including Jason Plato and Colin Turkington, now racing for Subaru, plus Motorbase Ford pairing Andrew Jordan and Mat Jackson, and many more.

Families can look forward to British Truck Racing Championship rounds on 10/11 September, with up to ten truck races throughout the weekend from the leviathans of motorsport. In addition to a package of support races there will also be plenty to do off-track for fans of all ages.

Snetterton will also host nostalgic events this season including the Autosport Three Hours on 4/5 June, with racing from a variety of classic categories in addition to the main race on the Saturday. At the opposite end of the spectrum Retro Kings will showcase the best in custom machinery with a keen eye on past masters with the spectacular Time Attack Championship, plus demonstrations, rides and displays.

Supercar fans will now have two big events to look forward to this season including the debut appearance from the Supercar Challenge, a pan-European series for highly-modified machinery on 3/4 September. The British GT Championship's own huge grid of exotic machinery will compete in two one-hour races on 6/7 August, with additional entertainment from the BRDC Formula 4 Championship. Racing stars of the future will take part in one of the fastest races of the year in the powerful new Tatuus-Cosworth that made its debut appearance here last year. The BRDC F4 competitors will also visit on 27/28 March for a further three rounds on the 300 circuit that will get their new season underway.

Tickets for many 2016 events at Snetterton are now on sale from £10, with free entry for under-13s.
